Summer

Summer sunshine

That does not settle,

Tanning skin and as it

Bleaches the stone and hair.

There is yet tomorrow.

The sun, our city’s patron,

Sends us in to slumber

On summer rooftops

Seeing palm tree

Silhouettes and sunsets

Prostrate cool bodies

Casting shadows of

Their bathing form.

SUMMER
